Ed Shapiro, the partner in charge of the real estate division, and the Schaumburg office, received his bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. After passing the CPA exam, he attended and graduated from Northwestern University School of Law. He then joined the public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. and spent 4 years in their tax department. In 1967 he became a founding partner in the law firm of Rosenfeld Rotenberg Hafron & Shapiro.
In 1972, the firm opened an office in Schaumburg, one of only 4 law firms in a village of 8,000 people at the time. Ed became active in the northwest suburban legal community, and in 1985, became president of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, at that time the 2nd largest local bar association in the State of Illinois. He is currently listed in "Who's Who in American Law", and over the years Ed has written numerous articles for various publications, including Crain's and the Chicago Tribune.
